A long series of episodes of threats and harassment against an elderly disabled of Montebello Jonico led to the application of a precautionary measure against a 40 -year -old Romanian nationality. The man, according to what was reconstructed by the carabinieri of the Saline station of Montebello Jonico, would have persecuted the woman with aggressive and invasive behaviors, often in a state of intoxication.
The Court of Reggio Calabria, at the request of the Prosecutor directed by Giuseppe Borrelli, ordered for the investigation the ban on approaching the victim and his family, the obligation to maintain a minimum distance of 500 meters and the application of the electronic bracelet to monitor their movements.
The story had started last summer, when the man had targeted the area of the old woman, hitting the front door with kicks and punches and threatens the woman and her caregiver with a knife. In recent months, the episodes would have repeated, to the point of leading to an even more serious attack: the forced entrance to the house, the knife pointed and the attempt to drag away the elderly from the wheelchair.
The complaint, presented after this last episode, made it possible to collect a series of testimonies and feedback that outlined a clear picture of persecutory conduct. The woman told how the situation had forced her to completely modify her daily life, living closed at home and giving up social life.
