“Health cycle path”: the first edition from 19 to 21 September between Catanzaro, Mancuso and Lorica village

Pydolar know prevent: three days to combine health, well -being and nature, pedaling in the parks of Calabria. From 19 to 21 September the first edition of the “Health cycle path” will take place, an event that was created to enhance the cycle path of the parks of Calabria as a tool for promoting healthy lifestyles and prevention.

The initiative, promoted by the Department of the Environment and the Department of the Calabria Region -Sector Parks and Protected Natural Areas -, by national and regional parks, with the support of the European Union and the contribution of associations, local authorities and third sector, wants to demonstrate how the cycle path of the parks of Calabria is not only an itinerary of extraordinary naturalistic and tourist value, but also a flywheel of health and preventive culture.

The program includes a scientific conference entitled “Pedal to prevent”, scheduled for Friday 19 September at the Regional Citadel in Catanzaro, with the participation of doctors of the Oncomed Association, psychologists, nutritionists and sports specialists. The works will offer ideas and data on the relationship between physical activity, correct nutrition and oncological and cardiovascular prevention.

On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September the attention will move to the territory, with two cyclopasses in the parks of Calabria: on September 20 from the Mancuso village (Sila National Park) to Lorica, starting at 9.30 am; On September 21 in Lorica, along the banks of Lake Arvo.

On both days, oncomed health stations will be active, with the possibility of making free screenings and consultancy, as well as thematic workshops for children and families.
