A “maneuver” worth over 41 million euros: approved by the Occhiuto Council, the adjustment of the budget forecast for the years 2026-2028 arrives in the Regional Council. The accounting document has been sent to the commissions for the necessary examination and is probably destined for the first useful session after the summer break, also because among the main expenditure items fattened by the executive there is the allocation of 7 million euros to allow the possible holding of the popular referendum on the undersecretaries, just set for 29 November but in any case subject to the judgment of the TAR which will discuss the council’s appeal on 2 September.
The objective of the Council with the budget adjustment is “to strengthen the budget balance and guarantee the financial coverage of expenses of a mandatory nature”, ensuring at the same time “the necessary adjustment of some deficient appropriations when preparing the ’26-’28 budget” and aiming to “satisfy urgent needs coming from the various regional structures”. The 41.66 million redistributed derive mostly from the available surplus of 2025, equal to approximately 26.6 million euros, to which are added 8.25 million returned by the Regional Council and other revenues equal to approximately 6 million linked mainly to credits that the Region recovers with installment payments.
