Hope to Gaza: “At least the killings will end”. On the Trump level there is also skepticism: “Hamas can say no”

Great hopes for the end of the war, but also caution and skepticism: they are the two contrasting feelings that are perceived among the residents of Gaza, after the announcement of the Trump plan on the future of the pitched encycling. However, confidence seems to have become prevalent, so much so that the attitude that can be seen on the streets appears to be changed in a radical way: the majority believes that the American initiative, regardless of the contents, will end almost two years of hostility.

And more importantly, it will put an end to daily killings and hunger. On the contrary, there are still those who think that things will not work, for several reasons: Hamas could say no, or there will be a ceased to cease but then will resume fighting. The main question of the Trump plan, according to Razeq Hassan, is to remove Hamas, and then the military groups formed by Israel such as “Yasser Abu Shabab” will govern on Gaza, while the ANP and other factions will have no influence in the future of the strip.

So, he underlines, “I don’t blame Hamas if he refuses the plan”. Sahar Ramadan then believes that Trump wants to avoid the world recognition of the Palestine state, so he imposed this plan to stop the recognition of Palestine.

So this plan is harmful to the Palestinian cause. Different notice is Yousef Fares, a journalist who has never left Gaza City and the northern area despite the war and attacks on journalists: Trump’s plan – he writes on his Facebook page – is the price of defeat. And despite being a bad floor and is unfair, to stop the nightmare, displacements and mass killings such as nation and people and saving what remains of dignity and life will be better than continuing with this endless suicide.

“I say that, with the broken heart and the bleeding soul, we broke ourselves and they broke us, we must stop the genocide”, is the appeal of the reporter. Mohammed Abu Mahadi’s opinion is that America and his allies have pushed Palestinians into a difficult situation, without other choices, and therefore the only way is to accept the Trump plan: “We must accept the plan because it is less harmful than being under Zionist fascism”.

In general, the ordinary people of Gaza who want this war to end do not worry about the long -term consequences, want to put an end to the killings and return to have a shelter and food. Husam Rajaa, father of 3 male children and 2 females, said he had already enough: “I don’t care if (the US plan) is good or bad, I just want my children to be safe”. In his life, he has never seen such a terrifying war, with the silence and ignorance of the whole world, and has never been able to imagine that this “genocide”, as he describes it, could last two years without anyone stopping Israel.
