Horcynus Festival in Messina: the astronomical observatory at the Social Park of Fortezza is inaugurated on Sunday

After the Horcynus Orca 2025 award in memory of the great director Carlos Saura, on Thursday evening this recognition was awarded to Luciano Carrino and the memory of Franco Basaglia and Franco Rotelli for the Social. The president of the Horcynus Orca Foundation, Giuseppe Giordano and the artistic director Franco Jannuzzi, have motivated the prize to these three personalities: “By sharing the phenomenological existential thought of Franco Basaglia, we think that man is not an abstract entity definable exclusively through a system of closed categories. The socio-economic conditions, in fact, deeply affect the health-economic conditions. That there is the original violence that ‘separates’, which excludes and that often pushes people out of the associated life, from the production, up to the walls of old and new institutions. EA Luciano Carrino with whom we shared thoughts, ‘Eutopie’, important segments of personal and collective commitment in seeking beauty and liberation “.

During the evening the musical critic Enrico Vita was remembered, recently disappeared. The applauded concert was held suspended by Riccardo J. Moretti on the piano, accompanied by the intense performer Thierry Parmentier and the musical musical moment Cosmo who saw the pianist Katia Pesti protagonist, with the readings of Gianfranco Quero and the video of Daniele Alef Grillo. Among the guests of the Festival there is also the director Paolo Benvenuti who participated in the evening of Friday 8 August.

The inauguration at the Social Park of Forte Petrazza of the Astronomical Observatory, created by the Messina Foundation in collaboration with the Association with the Association of the Astrofili Messinesi (GAM) Foundation, scheduled for Sunday 10 August at 9 pm. As Gaetano Giunta of the Messina Foundation explains: “This astronomical Observatory will rise in one of the parks of beauty and science, which has as a distinctive thematization, the astronomy, the cosmology, the origin. of the universe. It is generous collaboration and with which a scientific and educational infrastructure is being structured “.

The final event of the HF2025 will be in Novara di Sicilia (ME), on Monday 11 August: at 9.30 pm the finissage of Io will take place, the exciting installation of Francesca Borgia dedicated to the small victims of all wars and, following, the concert of the well -known singer Faisal Taher, who will be accompanied by the percussionist Riccardo Gerbino. The HF2025, which has the artistic direction of Franco Jannuzzi and Giacomo Farina, is created by the Horcynus Orca Foundation and the Messina Foundation and, over the years, with the support of: Mic, Sicilian Region, Tourism, Sport and Entertainment Department, Sicily Film Commission, University of Messina, Municipality of Messina, Metropolitan City of Messina, ATM – Company Transport Messina, social company with children.
