Eni has to pay the Municipality the IMU (today Inci) tax, for the presence at the sea of ​​the Luna A platforms, Luna B and Hera Lacinia Beaf that extract the methane in front of the Crotone coasts. This was established by the Court of Cassation. The “Ermellini” by rejecting the company’s appeal against the sentence of the Calabria Regional Tax Commission of 4 October 2022, confirmed the obligation for the multinational to pay the Authority 3,417,835 euros referring to the 2016 annuality of the local tribute.
Certainly, the outcome of the dispute will also affect cascade on the other still pending judgments centered on the investigation notices issued by the Town Hall to collect the IMU of the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 which amounts to over 8 million euros.
