The breast cancer is at the center of the scientific debate to be held tomorrow, Saturday 4 October 2025, starting at 8.30 am, at the Hotel Marechiaro di Gizzeria, on the occasion of the conference “Interventional Senology in the heart of the South – Advanced techniques and multidisciplinary approach. Innovations and challenges”.
The event, promoted by the scientific manager, Dr. Bernardo Bertucci, brings together specialists-radiologists, oncologists, surgeons-to discuss the most recent evolutions in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, with particular attention to mini-invasiveness and customization of care
The program will deal with crucial themes such as the introduction and role of the Breast Unit in Italy and Calabria, guided percutaneous biopsies and the news and challenges in stereotaxic biopsy.
Great space will be given to ablative therapies, such as the Vacuum Assisted Excision (VAE) and the ablation of the breast lesions that represent innovative borders for patient management.
The scientific manager underlines the importance of the event, focused on innovation and quality of care. “Interventional senology represents a real opportunity for the optimization of health resources and for raising performance,” says Dr. Bertucci. “Our conference is focused on the transition to an increasingly oriented medicine to customization and the lower invasiveness, an approach that must be guaranteed with high quality standards also in Southern Italy.”
“Integrated breast diagnostics – adds Bertucci – is fundamental for the early and precise identification of carcinoma. The objective of interventional senology is to offer patients diagnostic and therapeutic protocols who are not only accurate, but also less invasive.”
