Montalto Uffugo
From the Municipality of Montalto Uffugo, led by the mayor Biagio Faragalli, an initiative starts that combines generations, emotions and collective memory. In collaboration with the volunteers of the Universal Civil Service, the municipal administrator has kicked off the “Tramma by the traditions – Nonni 2025” project, an event that from 1 to 3 October will bring a deep message of love and gratitude to those who have built, with patience and dedication, the foundations of our communities in schools: the grandparents.
To tell the importance of the initiative is Vincenzina Calomino, delegated to welfare, who enthusiastically declares:
“I am happy to tell you that in these days I will support and participate in this splendid initiative organized by the volunteers of the Universal Civil Service together with the municipal administration.”
An initiative – concludes Vincenzina Calomino – which is not only a party, but a journey into the memory and cultural roots of the territory. The second and third classes of local educational institutions will be involved in an educational and emotional path, made up of stories, workshops and activities related to the oil tradition, one of the most authentic treasures of our land. Pupils will have the opportunity to listen to stories of the past, learn ancient gestures, and understand the value of slowness, care and wisdom that only grandparents know how to convey.
“Tramailing the traditions” wants to be a moment of gratitude and reflection, but also an invitation to build a strong link between generations: an invisible thread that combines past and future, memory and innovation.
In an era where speed seems to devour everything, Montalto Uffugo stops to listen to those who still have so much to teach. Because grandparents are not just part of the family: they are part of the identity of a people “.
