The action of the Carabinieri continues unabated in the territory of the province of Crotone, through a constant commitment both in the fight against predatory crime and in the control of economic activities, aimed at protecting the safety of citizens and legality.
In prison in Crotone to serve a final 4-year sentence. The Carabinieri of Cotronei carried out the measure. The conviction of the man, resident in the Sila center, originates from a serious home burglary committed in 2019, during which a legally held rifle and related ammunition were removed. The perpetrator of the crime had been identified thanks to the investigative activity conducted by the military. The investigations carried out at the crime scene had made it possible to find fingerprints useful for identifying the person responsible, providing a decisive contribution to the reconstruction of the episode and the affirmation of his responsibility in the subsequent procedural phases.
As part of a broader strategy of prevention and control of the territory, the carabinieri of the Roccabernarda station, with the support of personnel from the Provincial Health Authority of Crotone, carried out a targeted check at a commercial establishment in the city centre. The inspection activity made it possible to ascertain numerous irregularities of an administrative and hygienic-sanitary nature, including the lack of the mandatory documentation required by sector regulations and the absence of the necessary authorizations for carrying out the activity. The violations found resulted in the suspension of commercial activity and the imposition of administrative sanctions for a total amount of approximately 6,000 euros. During the investigations, the presence of further activities carried out within the same premises was also noted, a circumstance for which the competent administrative offices were involved for the purpose of the necessary checks.
