At the end of an impeccable week, Giorgio Tabacco won the ITF tournament with a prize pool of $ 15,000, held on the red land fields of the Bologna Tennis Club. The 22 year old from Messina defeated in the final, with a clear 6-1, 6-0, Juan Cruz Martin Manzano, seeded number 7 of the seeding.

For the youngest of the Tobacco brothers, this is the second success in the ITF circuit, after the statement of March 2024 obtained on Villena’s Veloce, Spain. There are two, however, the finals lost by the Peloritano tennis player, always in the ITF field, in 2022 in Santa Margherita di Pula, Sardinia and in 2023 in Forlì.

Returning to the victorious Bologna tournament, yesterday’s final against blue Juan Martin Manzano, number 764 in the world, had no history with tobacco that has granted just a game to his opponent. But, throughout the week, the young athlete who grew up on the fields of the CTV offered a good tennis and, also from the physical point of view, the Sicilian appeared in excellent condition.

All victories for 2 sets to zero, starting from the first round (6-3, 6-1 to Raffaele Ciurnelli). In the second round a twofold 6-2 to Stefano Napolitano, series head number 8 and number 769 of the ATP ranking, in the quarterfinals defeated Ainius Sabaliauskas for 6-3, 6-3, then in the semifinal beaten the 19-year-old Iranian Kasra Rahmani for 6-2, 6-2 and, therefore, yesterday in the final victory against Martin Manzano for 6-0, 6-1.
With this statement, Giorgio Tabacco, currently number 1091, in the ATP ranking, will make a nice leap forward in the standings.
