“There is no more time. It’s now or never again.” It is a heartfelt appeal, the one launched by the Conf.In to the President of the Calabria Region as well as Commissioner to Health, Roberto Occhiuto, regarding the delicate dispute that involves the workers of the Konecta office. The union, entered the company for a few weeks, denounces a “disorganized and dangerous” situation from the beginning of the activities, last January 1st, and strongly asks for an urgent meeting to the regional citadel, setting the date of 11 August at 10:30 as it can be improvable.

A clear request: receive workers, without postponements or recolenceizations

To sign the letter addressed to the governor is Fabio Tomaino, provincial secretary of the conf.al of Crotone, who writes “with the heart in his hand and the voice broken for months of silences”. The accusations are heavy: there is talk of abandoned workers, unacceptable work conditions, forced holidays imposed during the closing of the company until August 24, and above all a lack of protection also for permanent employees.

The disappointment of the union: “A project that bears the president’s signature, but which today does not guarantee even minimum security”

The Konecta project – highlights the Conf.ial – was born as a model of innovation, efficiency and stability, a concrete response after the troubled former Abraham case. “A hope, a possibility, a vision” which today, however, risks sinking in silence and distrust.

In the letter, there is no lack of thanks to the President of the Province for the availability for dialogue, but for the union it serves more: the direct intervention of the President of the Region is needed.

“We do not give up” – Tomaino still writes – “We still believe that this project can be saved. But it is not saved by itself. It is saved now”.

The union says he is ready to bring documents, evidence and every element useful to transpare the story transparently, and relaunches a strong message: “You don’t leave us alone”.
