“Once again the fate of the former Abramo workers, who later joined Konecta R, is hanging by a thread with the new redundancy fund which expires on December 31st and no certainty about the future despite the promises of governor Occhiuto who no later than a year and a half ago envisaged stable solutions with industrial reconversion and the transition to digitalisation services”.
This was stated by MP Anna Laura Orrico, Calabrian coordinator of the 5 Star Movement.
“Unfortunately – says Orrico – the project for the dematerialisation of the medical records of the Calabrian ASPs, promoted by the Calabria Region, entrusted to Konecta R through the mediation of Tim and the State Printing Institute, lavishly financed with tens of millions of euros of public resources, foundered due to the lack of volumes of work, or material to be digitised. So much so that, even with the funds running out, we had to resort to social safety nets.
A very different epilogue – continues the five-star exponent – from what the workers expected and deserved after years of battles for the right to work which involved hundreds of Calabrian families. Of course, even the monitoring table activated to follow the issue at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy does not seem to have fully fulfilled its institutional task if this is the current situation.
This is why – concludes Anna Laura Orrico – we want to know if the whole affair was just a magic trick on the shoulders of the workers so, together with our colleagues Vittoria Baldino and Riccardo Tucci, we have filed a parliamentary question addressed to Minister Urso to ask what initiatives he wants to undertake to give operational continuity to the dematerialisation project already started and if, indeed, it is possible to involve the Konecta R workers in other similar projects. At the same time we hope that President Occhiuto will take responsibility for the promises and commitments made towards operators”.
