On the evening of Friday 18 July 2025, military personnel dependent on the Coast Guard of Vibo Valentia was engaged in a control activity along the fishing chain, specifically an ethnic restaurant in the municipality of Lamezia Terme.
The operation made it possible to ascertain and contest an administrative violation of the amount of € 1500 relating to the non -compulsory commercial documentation for the purposes of the traceability that certified its origin and quality of the fish product subject to control, as required by the national legislation in force.
The application of the violation in question provides for the consequent administrative seizure of the fish product which, in the case in question, is in total of about 153 kilograms. The seized fish product, without traceability, after the checks by the ASP veterinarians who intervened, has been considered not edible and therefore will be destroyed and disposed of. The activity falls within the usual vigilance and control on fishing, conduct of the staff of the body of the harmony of Porto – Coast Guard.
