This afternoon the school representatives of the Archimede High School, Giacomo Warm and Giovanni Orfila, met the Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Messina, Federico Basile, at Palazzo Zanca. The meeting aimed to discuss the status of the renovation and renovation works of the high school, the execution of which has slowed down compared to the expected timetable.
Mayor Basile immediately showed himself available to listen to the students’ problems. During the meeting it was reiterated that, if the works are not completed by the deadline established by the PNRR (31 March 2026), it will be possible to request an extension to complete the renovation works. Mayor Basile also guaranteed that, even if the extension was not sufficient to complete the works, they will still be financed at the expense of the Metropolitan City of Messina.
The institute representatives thanked the Mayor and all the municipal institutions for the availability and the answers provided to the students, underlining the importance of maintaining a direct dialogue between the institutions and the school world to guarantee the regular completion of the works and the improvement of the structures of the Archimede High School.
