Locri, four smugglers arrested for the landings of August in Roccella Jonica

The investigating judge of the Court of Locri, accepting the proposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, led by Giuseppe Casciaro, ordered the prison for four foreign smugglers suspected of having conducted in Italy by Turkish ports, in distinct moments, groups of migrants aboard boats. The investigative activity, conducted by the State Police and Guardia di Finanza, arose from the landings of 22 and 23 August at the port of the Graces of Roccella Jonica, during which a total of 144 people rescued at sea from the Coast Guard in Sar events, about 100 miles from the Calabrian coast. The testimonies of some migrants were determining, who described the dynamics of the journey. The four suspects were taken to the Locri prison.
