An afternoon of excursion into nature was transformed into an emergency for an elderly Swiss tourist caught by illness in the heart of the canyon of the Regional Nature Reserve of the Cupe Valleys, in the territory of Satale.
To take a rescue was a team of the Fire Brigade of the Provincial Command of Catanzaro, coming from the detachment of Sellia Marina, promptly intervened to reach the impervious area where the man was in difficulty. The firefighters reached the critical point aboard a off -road vehicle, operating in close synergy with the health personnel of Suem 118, who lent the first care to the hiking.
The collaboration of a firefighter originally from the area, free from service, which provided direct support to colleagues and precious indications to quickly locate the tourist, was decisive for the success of the operations.
After the health checks on the spot, the man was transported safely along the main path, where he was entrusted to the health personnel for further investigations.
The intervention ended without further complications, thanks to the speed and effectiveness of the rescue.
