Maxi Indian hemp plantation discovered in Fabrizia: 1350 plants seized for a value of over 1.3 million euros

A vast anti -drug operation conducted by the financiers of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Vibo Valentia led to the discovery, in a mountainous and impervious area of ​​the Municipality of FabriziaOf Four illegal plantations of Indian hemp. Overall, about 1350 plants were found, of the height between one and a half and a half, for a total extension of 1,500 square meters.

The intervention, coordinated by the economic-financial police unit and the group of Vibo Valentia, made use of the support of the Aerial Section of Lamezia Terme and the Alpine Rescue Station of the Guardia di Finanza of Cosenza. The plantations were carefully hidden between the dense vegetation and protected by brambles, with possible access only through narrow tunnels and difficult to identify. Each plot was equipped with an autonomous irrigation system, demonstrating a structured and well organized cultivation.

According to the investigators’ estimates, once they have come to maturity and worked, the plants could have yielded up to 135,000 doses of drugs, for a commercial value of around 1,350,000 euros.

Informed the judicial authority, in the person of the public prosecutor on duty at the Public Prosecutor of Vibo Valentia, the immediate destruction of plants on site was ordered, after sampling for each area.

The operation took place under the direction of the Prosecutor of the Republic of Vibo Valentia, Camillo Falvo, who confirmed the intention of the Prosecutor’s Office to impress a strong and concrete signal in the fight against crime linked to drug trafficking, reaffirming the presence of the state in the most difficult areas of the Vibonese territory.

The activity is part of the wider daily commitment of the Guardia di Finanza of Vibo Valentia for the protection of legality and economic-financial safety, with particular attention to the contrast of cultivation and drug dealing, in defense of public health and civil life.
