Great interpretative sensitivity to revive the spiritual testament of a poet of Italian song in the “Fiorella canta Fabrizio e Ivano – Anime Salve” tour, at the Capo Peloro Arena in Messina for the Capo Peloro Summer Fest, promoted and organized by the Municipality of Messina as part of the “Messina City of Music and Events 2025-2026” project.
A concert in which the Roman artist returns the most famous and loved songs by Fabrizio De Andre’ and Ivano Fossati, with the focus on the cult pieces from the album “Anime Salve” by De Andre’ himself, written with Fossati and published in 1996, winner of the 1997 Tenco Award for Best Album. We start with “Dolcenera”, followed by “Immeasurable prayer”, a secular invocation in defense of minorities and the poorest taken from the literary saga “Maqroll the Gabbiere” by the Colombian writer Álvaro Mutis.
And, also, “Prinçesa” (Targa Tenco 1997 as Best Song), which sings the true story of the Brazilian transsexual Fernanda Farias de Albuquerque; “Khorakhanè”, dedicated to the Roma people, “I saw Nina fly”, “Disamistade” and “Anime salve” itself. Also in the lineup are the historical pieces of the two singer-songwriters such as “La Guerra di Piero”, “Il Pescatore” (already recorded by Mannoia in 1984), “C’è tempo” and “Le notti di maggio”, written by Fossati for the artist and presented in Sanremo in 1988. Mannoia’s great successes are inevitable, such as “Quello che le donne non dire” (Sanremo 1987), written by Enrico Ruggeri, “Il cielo d’Ireland”, “Combattente” and the anthem to female emancipation “Mariposa”, Sergio Bardotti Award for the best text in Sanremo 2024.
Great emotions and also a message: that “No Bridge” which Mannoia reinforced with a waving flag. At the end of “What women don’t say” Mannoia reiterated the need for sentimental education for young people, addressing above all the family, that is, teaching children and grandchildren that when a woman says no it is no.
