The first news around the ACR Messina are certainly not the ones that will heat up the streets. The decision, not made official (probably next week), to join Messina Futsal, newly promoted to the A2 Elite series, and that of wanting to set up a women’s team (an idea already announced last October in the first presentation conference of the Racing City Group) are an important step towards becoming increasingly rooted in the territory, but they cannot represent the turning points invoked by the entire Giallorossi environment, still hurt by the bitter relegation to Eccellenza in the playout against Ragusa.
Almost a month later, the biancoscudata ownership, with the president Justin Davis and the deputy Morris Pagniello, has not sent any concrete signal, not even following up on the last official note dated May 26th, that is, over ten days ago. The message for the re-election of the mayor Federico Basile was the opportunity to break the long silence, making clear the desire to present «in the next few days the Acr Messina project to the city: a long-term vision for the club and for the bond with its people».
Since then, however, there has been silence again and we are still waiting for news regarding the first team. The management would be moving “behind the scenes” to definitively put last season behind them and to plan the immediate future: it will be necessary to close the accounts with the members, pay the salaries and obtain the necessary releases to submit the application for registration both in the Eccellenza tournament and for a possible repechage in Serie D.
