In the first leg of the round of 16 against a young Gioiosa, we saw a more decisive, toned Messina who was constantly projected forward until the final 4-0: «All the matches are difficult, but we channeled it on the right tracks and started off strong, as we did on Sunday too. The difference is that this time the goals arrived, but the approach was the same”, explained midfielder Andrei Tanasa, who offered a positive performance compared to the previous match against Nebros.
The 1990 class was more at the heart of the game, he often stooped to get the ball, also demonstrating affinity with the various teammates in the department, including Langone, Zampa and Giunta: «My position depends on how we prepare the match. On Sunday I didn’t have to lower myself so much, on Wednesday, however, I had to find space behind their midfielder. We know that it is a competition on par with the championship and must be approached in the best way”, underlined Tanasa, looking forward to the next challenge.
The championship returns on Sunday and Messina will play away again against Gioiosa, but it will be a different team than the one seen at the “Franco Scoglio”: «We prepare all the matches, regardless of the opponent, to interpret them in the same way. We have little time, but we already have this type of approach in our DNA. It will be the same team but with different players – concluded the midfielder – and we will always focus on our attitude and our team.”
