“Recently, some press outlets have indicated me among the possible candidates for the position of Mayor of Messina, supported by the centre-right coalition. Having returned to the city today after several days of absence for family reasons, I must declare, however, that I have never received any official proposal from the coalition. Although gratified by the attention and esteem that this hypothesis underlies, academic and professional commitments made some time ago, in Italy and abroad, do not allow me to take on active roles in city politics. However, I remain always available to contribute to the public debate and to the development of the city in forms and ways compatible with my professional path”.
