Four years of imprisonment with the granting of generic extenuating circumstances for Claudio Marino. This is what the public prosecutor Alice Parialò asked during the hearing that took place today at the Court of Messina. It is the 49 -year -old Rogationist priest, originally from Turin, who for a long time in the city directed the Antonian Institute “Cristo King” of the Rogationist Fathers. It is there, in one of those rooms of the Institute, that according to what the prosecutor’s office he reconstructed in the summer of 2022 he would have raped a Tunisian migrant, at the time 37 years old. The woman who suffered the violence had arrived in Italy, landing on the island of Lampedusa, in September 2020. In June 2024 she was felt by the Court of Catania, by the immigration section, and there in the hearing phase she had told what had happened when she was in Messina in the summer of 2022.
Also today the civil lawyer for the victim, Antonia Coiro, spoke, while his defender, the lawyer Salvatore Silvestro, will speak for the harangue in December.
