The mayor Federico Basile announced that, in the afternoon of today, the city council approved resolution no. 656 of 23 September 2025 relating to the economic feasibility project for the extraordinary maintenance of numerous urban arteries, with particular attention to the peripheral villages of the city.
The planned investment amounts to around 6 million euros, financed through the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, and is accompanied by the other interventions already scheduled in the municipal area through various financing measures.
“I am very satisfied – said the mayor Basile – for having succeeded, thanks to a careful team work, to maintain the promise of the overall renovation of our roads. It is a significant commitment to return to the Messinesi safe and viable streets, with a radical intervention that until now had not been possible to start. It is a new important step forward – he concluded – which takes into account the needs of the suburbs, called to return to the overall development of the city”.
