The mixture between black and white waters and frequent flooding along the avenue of freedom in a few months could be a distant memory. Palazzo Zanca finally runs for cover, with the aim of solving once and for all critical issues for residents and motorists, especially on the occasion of intense rains. The scenes to which the Messina assist are now well-known: the tram lane that turns into the pool, the binding manholes and the often unbearable smell, with consequent hygienic-sanitary problems.
A few days ago, the Municipality awarded the “works of efficiency for the purposes of reuse of rainwater from existing collection and conveying systems along the Viale della Libertà (Lot 2)”, as part of the experimental program of interventions for adaptation to climate change in the urban area. The company Sicilnord Impianti srl will perform them, which offered 265,300.05 euros on a tender -based amount of 364,095.49 euros. Obottated special is the area between the San Licandro streams and the carousel, through the creation of a tank of accumulation and treatment of rainwater for irrigation purposes and for road washing. In the preliminary phase, the project was aimed at the adaptation/expansion of the existing system of the waste lifting station of the San Francesco area, in order to avoid uncontrolled exhausts in the receptor water body consisting of the coast between the Rada San Francesco and the carousel avenue: however, following some technical inspections carried out on behalf of the municipal administration, another portion for a modern and efficient system was identified of rainwater.
