The filming of the short film will begin on February 24th “Antonino”, written and directed by the actor and director Angelo Campolo, Inspired by one of the stories that emerged from the theatrical laboratories he conducted in the context of the “Free to choose” protocol created by the magistrate Roberto Di BellaPresident of the Court for Minors of Catania.
The film is produced by Grand Mirm Company film administered by Giuseppe Ministeri, With the support of the new IMAIE and the collaboration of the Social Service Office of the Ministry of Justice, seat of Messina, Caritas Messina and of the Verona Trento -majorana Higher Education Institute. The script of “Antonino” was among the winners of the “2024 short film” production prize promoted by Nuovo Imaie and is focused on Matteo’s journey, a theatrical director commissioned to conduct a laboratory with a group of boys from a recovery community . Among them, Antonino stands out, a fifteen -year -old problematic with a past of violence and drug dealing. The theater becomes a tool through which the director and the boy begin to get to know each other and clash in a path marked by errors and false steps, but also by unexpected discoveries that open spaces of the possible in lives not yet marked. The story explores the complex relationship between educators and young people, highlighting the difficulty of creating an authentic dialogue in a context marked by distrust and rebellion.
Filming, from February 24 to March 2, will be made with a troupe of workers directed by Morgan Maugeri and Gaetano Sciaccaand they will have what Location The headquarters of the Diocesan Caritas and the Court for Minors. Among the interpreters of the short Annamaria De Luca, Giovanni Moschella, Irene Muscarà, Lorenzo Nocella, Mattia Bonaventura, Giovanna Mangiú and Lorenza Denaro. Angelo Campolo thus continues his path of artistic and social research, which in recent years has seen him engaged in projects capable of combining show, training and inclusion.
