There are ten magistrates vying for the vacant position of deputy prosecutor of Messina, discovered this summer after the transfer to Palermo of Vito Di Giorgio, who is now deputy prosecutor in the Sicilian capital. These are colleagues Maria Pellegrino, Marco Colamonici, Antonella Barrera, Miriam Rosa Cantone, Tiziana Barbara Laudani, Andrea Pagano, Fabrizio Monaco, Francesco Massara, Alessia Giorgianni and Sara Amerio. Some of the candidates are in service in Messina, for example the deputies Massara and Monaco, or the prosecutor of minors Pagano; others, like Pellegrino, have been for a long time; among the names in the running there is also the former deputy prosecutor Marco Colamonici, who was in Messina for two years and then had to leave his post due to a new vote of the plenum of the CSM, which in May overturned his previous appointment after a long administrative battle, in favor of his competitor for the position, Assunta Musella, who took office as deputy prosecutor of Messina in July.
