The traffic police makes the road sections public where the speed control tools are operational day by day. A way to invite motorists to moderate the pace respecting the limits and thus prevent road accidents. It is important to keep the speed under control.
The services will be carried out from Monday 01 September 2025 until Sunday 07 September 2025, on the motorway sections A/18 Messina-Catania and A/20 Messina-Palermo, in the sections most affected by a high rate of accidents, according to the following calendar:
- Days 01, 02, 03 and 04 September 2025 in the A/20 Messina – Palermo and A/18 Messina – Catania, alternatively, in both senses.
We remember the current limits:
- On the highways: 130 kilometers per hour, they drop to 110 in case of bad weather;
- On the main extra -urban roads: 110 kilometers per hour, they go down to 90 in case of bad weather.
These sanctions have increased for novice drivers and professional drivers.
Particular attention will also be paid to the excesses of speeds committed by the drivers of commercial and transport vehicles (buses and heavy vehicles) also through the reading provided by the on -board systems such as tonoping and digital tachigraphs.
