The Messina Traffic Police announces a new week of intensified control checks along the main motorway arteries of the province. From 30 June to 6 Julythe agents will be committed to monitoring the high-risk sections of the 11 Messina-Catania and 20 Messina-Palermo, with mobile active stations in both senses.
The initiative aims to sensitize motorists on the importance of respect for speed limits and prevent road accidents, constantly increasing especially in the busiest traits. The checks will be carried out on June 30, 3 and 4th July, with particular attention to commercial and buses, for which on -board systems such as TonotachiGraphs and Digital Tachigraphs will also be used.
The Polstrada recalls the limits in force: 130 km/h on the highway (reduced to 110 in case of bad weather) and 110 km/h on the main suburban roads (reduced to 90 with rain or adverse weather conditions).
The expected sanctions are significant:

Up to 10 km/h beyond the limit: fine from 42 to 173 euros;

Between 10 and 40 km/h plus: from 346 to 1388 euros and 3 points less on the license;

Between 40 and 60 km/h beyond: from 543 to 2170 euros, 6 points less and suspension of the driving license from 1 to 3 months;

Over 60 km/h: fine from 845 to 3382 euros, 10 reduced points and suspension from 6 to 12 months. In the event of a recidivism within two years, the driving license will be revoked.
