Messina, yet another fatal accident: 72-year-old man hit on Highway 114. He had just celebrated his granddaughter’s graduation

Yet another fatal accident on the streets of Messina. A 72 year old man was hit by a car late this afternoon while crossing the road on State Road 114, near a restaurant in Ponte Schiavo. The man, Domenico Oterihad just left the club where he had celebrated his niece’s graduation, when he was hit head-on by a Fiat 500 driven by a 31-year-old woman. Municipal police personnel and 118 operators were on site and immediately provided aid to the man, who later died in hospital at the Polyclinic, where he arrived by ambulance in an already desperate condition.
