The summer holidays are over and politics has rekindled the engines. To tell the truth, a strong impulse came from the initiative of the city councilor Damiano Maisano who, after a period of stand by following the abandonment to “South Call Nord”, had passed through the mixed group.
Then the choice to adhere to the “countercurrent” movement of the regional parliamentarian Ismael La Vardera which has anticipated that it will be present at the administrative of 2026 with its own list. But, we wondered: to support which coalition? The parliamentarian did not discover the cards by postponing everything to a next meeting.
It is known that the movement is in opposition to the center -right regional government and therefore, automatically, also to the municipal administration of Milazzo, as confirmed by the attacks that Vardera launched to the mayor Midili. Precisely this led those who participated in the Conference on Friday at Palazzo D’Amico to hypothesize a synergy of “countercurrent” with the center -left, in light of the presence between the public of the secretary of the Democratic Party, Gioacchino Use, and the former mayor Nino Nastasi.
Instead, the center -left also decided to get away from Maisano and Vardera as emerges from a statement released by the 5 Star Movement.
