The carabinieri of the Santo Stefano Medio station flagrantly arrested an 85-year-old from Messina, already known to the police, responsible for having violated the precautionary measure of the “ban on approaching places frequented by the offended person” to which he was subjected.
Harassment of a shop assistant
The violated restrictive measure was issued last February, following a series of harassment that the man had committed against a shop assistant, with whom he had become infatuated. In particular, although the interest shown by the man in the aforementioned woman was unrequited, the 85-year-old still repeatedly showed up at the business where the victim worked, claiming to be served exclusively by her and asking for information on her private life. He then also went to the woman’s house several times to deliver unwanted gifts. In this context, as part of the checks carried out to verify compliance with the aforementioned precautionary measure, the military surprised him again at the victim’s workplace, therefore in violation of the provisions he was burdened with. Following the incident, the man was arrested and placed under house arrest, at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
