The Provincial Health Authority of Messina proudly announces the activation of the project “App continuity of care” information to relatives in emergency room in all the emergency structures of the territory. The project, developed by the complex operating unit management control and information and statistical systems with the support of the technological partner ‘Agile srl’, It was born with the aim of improving communication between healthcare personnel and patients’ family members, reducing stress and preventing episodes of aggression, increasingly frequent in emergency contexts.
“App continuity of care” is a multi -channel digital platform, accessible from mobile devices through a web app and an SMS messaging system, which allows patients’ relatives to receive updated information on the state of health, the clinical path and the position of their loved one within the emergency room in real time. The system guarantees maximum security and confidentiality of data, thanks to encrypted protocols and personalized access.
Among the main features: display of the state of taking charge of the patient and related priority code awarded; Updates on the patient care path: Exam Request, Fast-Track activation, resignation etc. ..; Automatic notifications via SMS and web app; integration with the information totems present in the waiting rooms of the emergency room; structured communications between patients, family members and health personnel.
The project represents an important step forward towards a more transparent, human and technologically advanced health. “With app continuity of care – declares the general manager of the Asp of Messina Giuseppe Cuccì – we want to strengthen the trust between citizens and health workers, offering a concrete tool for humanization of care that allows to reduce tensions in the most delicate moments”.
The same information, suitably pseudonymized, conveyed through the app, are also visible on special new acquisition information monitors, located at all the emergency room of the companythrough which it is also possible to check the crowding in the same emergency room (numerous of the patients present and relative color code) as well as the average waiting time for each color code.
Furthermore, the service currently activated for emergency room is also part of a much wider project that it plans to provide, Soon, further useful information to patients under hospitalization. The strategic direction of the ASP of Messina, composed of the general manager Giuseppe Cuccì, the administrative director Giancarlo Niutta and the health director Giuseppe Ranieri Trimarchi, confirms “his commitment in digital innovation to protect the well -being of patients, family members and operators”.
