The lack of birth of the Avs (Alternativa Verdi Sinistra) council group within the City Council risks becoming a coincidence. And although it appears a paradox, in a city that sees citizens forced to pay a lot of money in taxes in exchange for few or no services, the issue is becoming the political topic of this tail end of the summer. Where does the dilemma come from? In the last city council meeting, the former group leader of the Liberamente Progressisti Sergio Barbuto announced his change of colors. He left Antonio Lo Schiavo’s group to join SI.
In the context, the elected representative believed he could form a new group, receiving a “niet” from the Prime Minister Antonio Iannello. Yet, the regulation requirements seemed to be met. In fact, this political force, despite not having the two councilors necessary to form a group, is present within the Regional Council. The head of the assembly, however, slowed down the process, reserving the right to delve deeper into the issue, since the symbol of the Italian Left was present in the logo which also contained that of the Freely Progressives in the last local elections. Consequently, since there was already a representative of that group in the Chamber, by the name of Antonio Scuticchio, Sergio Barbuto had no choice but to join the Mixed Group.
