Murder in Cutro. A young man of Bulgarian origin was shot to death. It happened between via Risorgimento and via Spagnolo, where the boy lived, a 21-year-old – Sergej Kapterv – who worked as a waiter in a well-known restaurant in the area. The crime occurred this morning, at dawn, when a local man knocked on the door of the 21-year-old who, after opening, was shot several times in the chest. Man who would later flee.
Under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Crotone, directed by the Public Prosecutor Domenico Guarascio, the sources of evidence were promptly acquired and the elements useful for reconstructing the dynamics of the event and identifying the possible perpetrator were collected. Deputy Prosecutor Matteo Staccini also intervened at the scene of the crime, taking over the coordination of the investigative activities conducted by the Investigative Unit employee and the Carabinieri Company of Crotone, with the support of the 8th Helicopter Unit of Vibo Valentia and the Heliported Hunters Squadron of Calabria.
28-year-old Giuseppe Sulla was arrested
The investigations, developed with particular rapidity through the acquisition and verification of the first available elements as well as through intense research activity in the area, made it possible, in the following hours, to trace a local person, Giuseppe Sulla, cl. 1998, in which serious circumstantial elements emerged in relation to the murder.
The man was therefore placed under judicial police custody and is currently at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, awaiting further decisions required by law. In the meantime, investigations continue aimed at the complete reconstruction of the dynamics of the event and, in particular, at identifying the real reasons and motive for the murder. The 28-year-old had hastily fled after the crime. He exercised the right not to answer the questions. Investigations are underway to reconstruct the motive and exact dynamics of the crime.
Mayor Voce: “Traumatised by what happened”
«We woke up traumatized by this event. It’s been a long time since these things happened.” This is how the mayor of Cutro, Domenico Voce, commented to ANSA on the murder of the twenty-one year old Bulgarian national which occurred this morning in the center of Crotone. «The investigations are ongoing. From what emerges it would seem that there were some family disagreements. We condemn the gesture, this is not how problems are solved. A young life was taken. We are trying to give a different image of our country by organizing cultural events, and facts like this don’t help”, added Voce.
