There is no decision yet, but Futuro Nazionale intends to have its say in the by-elections of 27 and 28 September, when there will be a vote to decide who should replace the former deputy, now mayor of Reggio, Francesco Cannizzaro. Domenico Furgiuele, regional coordinator of General Vannacci’s party for just over a month, avoided giving answers on the possible candidacy. «The party is a work in progress», he explained, shortly before welcoming the members of the various territorial committees at the Santa Trada Pillar in front of the splendid scenery of the Strait of Messina.
«Today we are here to talk about the future – began Furgiuele – because a large portion of Italians no longer feel represented by anyone. We are not here to welcome a protest, but we are here to build a proposal: starting from an ideological and programmatic base for the period 2027-2036. The others start from the applications, we start from the ideas, from the program and then we will evaluate who will be called to implement our proposal. They said we were just remigration. We will not take a step back on remigration: Family, territory, borders, merit: to do all this we need a real community. We will only use one method. Before asking politicians, everyone will have to tell us what they intend to do for the community.”
Among the many supporters and members of the party, many “experienced” political exponents, from Francesco Bevilacqua to Giovanni Dima, Michele Ranieli, the former provincial councilor of Reggio Walter Melcore, the former president of the regional council Domenico Tallini and the former deputy Michele Ranieli.
