The XX edition of the Nations Award – Thinkingreen is underway, scheduled in Taormina from 25 to 27 June 2026. The event, which celebrates the dialogue between cinema, culture, sustainability and social commitment, is enriched with new prestigious Italian and international guests and sees the actress Margherita Mazzucco in the role of godmother of the event.

Alongside her also Mădălina Ghenea, who join the protagonists already announced, including Sergio Castellitto, Margaret Mazzantini, Alessandra Mastronardi, Michele Morrone, Ozge Ozpirincci and Zahi Hawass, one of the most famous archaeologists in the world, known for his research on ancient Egypt and for the important discoveries linked to Tutankhamun, confirming the Nations Award’s vocation to bring together great personalities of the world in Taormina contemporary artistic and cultural panorama.

Margherita Mazzucco will be one of the central figures of the event, having received the role of godmother of the event. The actress, who became internationally famous thanks to the role of Elena Greco in the series My Brilliant Friend, represents one of the most interesting voices of the new generation of Italian cinema. His presence will help strengthen the bond between the festival and young talents, bringing to Taormina a contemporary and sensitive look on the themes of culture and social commitment.

Also returning to the Nations Award will be Mădălina Ghenea, a Romanian actress and model active in numerous international film productions, who over the years has built a career between cinema, television and fashion, collaborating with important directors and establishing herself as an important presence in the international artistic panorama.

This year too, the program includes in-depth moments dedicated to some of the main environmental issues at the center of the international debate: from the climate emergency to pollution, from waste management to sustainable tourism, up to the relationship between food, territory and climate change.

The Nations Award thus confirms its format, which combines cinema, themes linked to sustainability and valorisation of the Sicilian territory, with Taormina at the center of a comparison between culture and current issues. The final ceremony will be held in the prestigious setting of the Ancient Theater of Taormina on Saturday 27 June starting at 9pm and will be hosted by the actress Barbara Tabita and the journalist Andrea Morandi.

The Nations Awards – Thinkingreen, led by Michel Curatolo and whose artistic direction is curated by Marco Fallanca – take place under the high patronage of the European Parliament, the Senate of the Republic and the Sicilian Region, with the patronage and support of the Sicilian Region, ARS and the Archaeological Park of Naxos; with the patronage of the Municipality of Taormina, Metropolitan City of Messina, Taormina Foundation, ASM, Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation, University of Messina, Order of Architects, Foundation Architects in the Mediterranean Messina, National Institute of Bioarchitecture, Order of Engineers, Notary Council of Messina, Barcellona, ​​Patti and Mistretta, Order of Surgeons and Dentists of Messina and Tourism Bureau Messina.
