The indictment of the DDA in the abbreviated part of the trial resulting from the anti-mafia operation called “Call Me” launched in April last year with investigations conducted by the Guardia di Finanza has ended before the Catanzaro district mafia judge. The requests for conviction (already discounted by a third due to the choice of the alternative rite) are 17 in total.
Investigations into cell phones in prison
The investigation aims to shed light on thousands of phone calls received from outside the prison by the bosses of the La Rosa clan of Tropea (as well as some inmates from Vibo and Mileto) through the illicit use of mobile phones delivered behind bars.
The requests for conviction and the positions of the accused
Among the requests for conviction are those against Cassandra La Rosa and her husband Michele Bruzzese, as well as the family members of Armando Galati, the latter considered a leading exponent of the clan of the same name from Mileto (Vv).
However, the position of Antonio La Rosa, 64 years old, considered the boss of Tropea and detained in a hard prison regime (41 bis of the penitentiary system), has been eliminated.
