Giancarlo Pittelli was sentenced to 14 years in prison by the Palmi court. The sentence was issued a few minutes ago at the end of a council chamber lasting the whole day. The former parliamentarian of Forza Italia is accused of external competition in the mafia association in the process called “Malapigna”, born from the investigation of the DDA of Reggio Calabria against the Piomalli clan of Gioia Tauro. The anti -mafia prosecutor had asked Pittelli for a 16 -year sentence in prison. Rocco Delfino was also sentenced to the same procedure at the age of 22, considered the economic arm of the powerful house of ‘Ndrangheta di Gioia Tauro and hit this morning by an order for pre -trial detention in prison in the “Res Tauro” operation.
