At the first light of dawn, around 6:15, the Coast Guard patrol boat CP 326 landed at the port of Roccella Jonica with 123 migrants on board, rescued during the night.
Among them there are 90 men and 33 women, including 16 unaccompanied foreign minors and 19 total minors. According to what was declared, migrants mainly come from Afghanistan and Iran.
After the dock, the passengers were welcomed by the police, the Red Cross and the voluntary associations engaged in the first health and identification operations.
The landing of this morning confirms how the Ionian coast Reggina remains one of the main landing points of the migratory flows that cross the central Mediterranean.
