The next “round” will be in no earlier than 60 days with the return to the chamber for the second reading, but in the meantime the majority gets the first green light on the modification of the Region’s Statute which allows the expansion of the Council from 7 to 9 councilors and reintroduces the figure (up to 2) of undersecretaries. And the centre-right also received the green light for the provision which provides for the use of a confirmatory referendum only for the approval or complete replacement of the Statute, but not for partial changes.
The double vote arrived, by majority, in Thursday’s river session which ended after 1am. Heavy protests from the minority who, speaking in a hurry, defined the inauguration of the 13th legislature as “unpleasant” “with an armchair factory connected with the elimination of the referendum on changes to the Statute”.
