Another eighteen Cuban doctors assigned to the Catanzaro ASP will enter service on October 28th. The new professionals will join the twenty-one Cuban colleagues already present in the ASP health facilities. The eighteen doctors will be welcomed on October 28th at 10:00 am in the “Arch. Ferrante” of the “Giovanni Paolo II” hospital in Lamezia Terme. After the receptionsix of them will be transferred to the hospital in Soverato while the other 12 will remain in the hospital in Lamezia Terme. As previously, the 18 doctors were assigned based on the specialties they possess combined with the needs of the hospital facilities. In recent weeks they attended a course in Italian at the University of Calabria together with periods of information on the regional health service as per the now well-established protocol.
Their presence represents a fundamental support for the company’s health facilities which continue to register a shortage of personnel in the face of numerous requests for health services from a very large user base, which also includes part of the province of Vibo Valentia and part of the province of Cosenza; the projections on the services provided indicate that the Catanzaro ASP should increase its productivity by approximately 10% in 2024.
The ASP of Catanzaro therefore further strengthens the presence of Cuban doctors, alongside the specialists already present with other specialists who have already demonstrated that they are bearers of important skills. The continuous positive feedback that emerges confirms the anticipatory vision of the Calabria Region: thanks to the cooperation agreements signed by President Roberto Occhiuto with the Caribbean government, today it is possible to have professional resources to fill the serious shortages of medical personnel that afflict the entire Italian healthcare system . The partnership with the Cuban Healthcare also allows you to acquire professionalism that is more difficult to find in Italy, particularly in the emergency area.
