Six months that blocked contracts, salaries and rights for the Sicilian Region. This is the accusation of the trade union organizations Cgil Fp, Cisl Fp, Sadirs, Ugl and Uil Fp who denounce the “serious immobility” which, for over 180 days, “paralysed the department of Local Autonomy and Public Function, managed on an interim basis with reduced operations”. A situation that has led to “very heavy” delays on fundamental issues for thousands of regional workers: 2025/2027 contract renewals, additional salary, vertical progressions, high professionalism, welfare and social security protections.
«While in the rest of the public administration there are concrete advances – say the unions – the Sicilian Region continues to accumulate delays which penalize the regional staff economically and professionally». These responsibilities “certainly cannot be attributed to the new councilor”, who took office a few days ago, with whom an initial discussion has begun in recent hours. Now, however, “immediate actions, certain times and concrete decisions are needed to make up for lost time and prevent already planned and financially sustainable paths from being compromised”. The state of agitation of the regional staff remains confirmed: «Now, words will have to be followed by deeds. Otherwise it will be mobilization.”
