A simple accident, a trivial malaise could also be transformed into tragedy: the complex operating unit of general surgery of the “Barone Romeo” hospital has in fact, since last July 21, the hospitalizations is officially interrupted as well as suspending the emergency/urgency service (since yesterday, thanks to the spirit of service of the little personal, it is however guaranteed again, but only until 20 NDC).
The “stop” has arrived not for a programmed renovation or for a health reorganization plan, but for a much more alarming reason: there are not enough surgeons to ensure patient safety and to be able to work safely. A problem, that of the lack of staff, which is felt at national level but which, in the hospital of Patti, takes the clothes of a dangerous emergency.
