“Roberto Occhiuto is transforming public resources into personal propaganda tools.” This was stated in a note by the PD Calabria. “This is demonstrated – reads a press release – the 47 million euro maxi -contract for the tourist promotion of the region, won above all by Ryanair, and the subsequent endorsement of the CEO of the airline, used by the president now re -established as an electoral spot”.
According to the PD Calabria “the public orders, although legitimate, cannot become the basis to campaign. Occhiuto – accuse the Calabrian dem – exploits decisions and funds of the region to bring water to their mill, transforming what should be institutional promotion into a personal return. We of the center -left, on the other hand, make the difference, Pasquale Tridico – underlines the PD – started a voluntary fundraising to support his campaign, while Occhiuto moves the command levers and decides on public resources, however obtaining advantages in terms of visibility. It is a wrong system, to be defeated and archived. With the center -left at the helm of the Calabria Region, these practices will disappear, which even before being incorrect are immoral and therefore unacceptable. Public resources must serve citizens and the development of the territories, not – conclude the Calabrian dem – to the propaganda of the majority of government ».
