The Sicilian Democratic Party has filed a complaint with the public prosecutor’s offices of the 9 provincial capitals of the island on the selection of 118 emergency drivers, a tender worth approximately 15 million euros, with 759,530 euros in revenues expected for the company awarded the selection service. And for which the Temporary company presented a reduction of 99.57%, giving up over 750 thousand euros of margin.
«In the complaint we also have other anomalies – explains the regional secretary of the Sicily Democratic Party, Anthony Barbagallo – starting from the procedural ones relating to the click day during which many candidates found the platform blocked. But Temporary still decided to consider only the first 750 participants, selecting from among them approximately 100 drivers to hire, without any explanation on the criteria adopted”.
The deed was prepared by the lawyer Riccardo Schinninà and signed by the head of the regional secretariat, Peppe Calabrese. After the Democratic Party had raised the case – also following the activity carried out at the ARS by the regional deputy Dario Safina – the regional health councilor had announced the suspension of the tender pending clarifications also requested by the Anac. But the PD’s act was nevertheless necessary to ask “to verify the existence of any criminal profiles with particular reference to the regularity of the tender operations and the subsequent personnel selection phase”.
For the Dems the anomalies don’t stop there. «There is a second area on which we need to intervene: the hiring of bus drivers from Ast, another company controlled by the Region. Even in this case, in fact, the same temporary agency was called to manage the procedures, once again bypassing public competitions that had been expected for years. Here too we are faced – he concludes – with an unacceptable method, which must be stopped”.
