His name was Hassan el Kandoudi, 55 years old, the man hit and killed by a car yesterday evening near the Ulivi shopping centre, while he was walking along the road that connects Gioia Tauro with Taurianova.
The victim was originally from Khenifra, Morocco, a city located in the Atlas mountain range. Despite the timely intervention of the 118 health workers, there was nothing that could be done for him: he died instantly due to the serious injuries sustained in the impact.
The appeal of the police
The police are busy reconstructing the dynamics of the fatal accident. In the meantime they released the victim’s identity card, issued by the Municipality of Avellino in February 2025, with the aim of tracing relatives or acquaintances.
Investigators are urging anyone with useful information or who can help contact the man’s family and friends to contact authorities.
