According to the Erie News Now broadcaster, the police intervened yesterday around 5pm after reports of shots fired, finding two women dead in the street. The man apparently barricaded himself inside a house, while the officers surrounded the building and ordered him to leave. More gunshots were heard during the siege. When officers entered the building, they found other victims in the area of the home, including the two children. The man was found dead with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. The officers who intervened were offered psychological support. The Erie Police Department declined to comment or confirm details reported by local media.
