The Court of Auditors has not yet pronounced, the resolution with which the Cipess approved the final project was not published in the Official Journal of the Italian Republic, but the “Strait of Messina” company, according to the provisions also by the procedures included in the rules approved in 2023-2024, is already moving concretely, in view of the awarding of the first works, preparatory to the construction of the stable connection between the island and the continent.
An official act, in fact, is the opening of the digital suppliers register, the main tool through which companies can apply to participate in the tenders relating to supplies and services. The notice, published on August 7, includes “an open and dynamic register, accessible at any time by the economic operators concerned”. Registration-as the “Strait” explains-“does not guarantee direct assignment, but represents an essential pre-regulation to be selected in the tender or subcontracting procedures that will be banned in the various realization phases. The system is designed to encourage transparency, traceability and rotation between the operators, with particular attention to the technical qualification and the ability to respect the planned environmental and regulatory parameters “. The register includes all or almost the product categories: from supplies for systems and construction materials to environmental monitoring services, engineering advice, construction site safety, waste management, transport, logistics and communication.
