They are accused of having received and used cell phones and cards illegally entered into the penitentiary. The story dates back to the summer of 2021 when the operation began with some precautionary measures. The public prosecutor Piera Anzalone hypothesizes that the defendants will be charged with the crime of “undue access to devices suitable for communication by detained subjects”, recently introduced and punishable by a sentence of up to 4 years in prison. The pre-trial hearing has been set for September 11th before judge Giulia Zappalà.
