Following the official choice of President Rosaria Succurro in favor of her seat in the Regional Council, a new phase has opened for the Province of Cosenza. A phase of continuity, but also of renewed responsibility. Taking up the baton is Giancarlo Lamensa, until yesterday vice-president of the organisation, who today assumes the presidency until the next administrative elections in 2026.
The Lamensa settlement brings with it the sense of a shared path over the last four years. He himself remembered it, with measured and heartfelt words:
«I would like to thank President Rosaria Succurro for the trust she has placed in me since the beginning of her mandate. Having me as vice president was an important recognition, and I feel this trust even today, in a moment that requires balance and dedication», he declared.
Interventions on the territory
The new President wanted to focus on the work carried out by the provincial administration under the leadership of Succurro, a work that has left concrete signs on the territory.
In recent years, the Province of Cosenza has been able to intercept decisive opportunities such as those of the PNRR, directing resources and planning towards strategic interventions. From roads to schools, the organization has consolidated a path based on planning and investment.
«Interventions on the road network represented a priority, because the safety and functionality of internal connections are essential for the daily life of our communities”, explained Lamensa. In parallel, a great commitment was dedicated to schools: «Schools are the place where the future of our territory grows. We have worked to make them safer, more modern and technological, and we will continue to do so: our students deserve environments that live up to their dreams and possibilities».
Continuity
President Giancarlo Lamensa’s narrative is that of an administration that is changing face, but not direction.
«We will continue along the path traced, with the same method and the same determination. Our objective remains that of building an administration close to the territories, capable of listening and planning, oriented towards the common good».
Finally, the new President did not fail to wish Rosaria Succurro good luck in her role in the Regional Council, underlining the desire to maintain an institutional relationship based on collaboration and the continuity of the initiatives undertaken for the development of the Province.
